Photos of the LHC
August 2, 2008
The Large Hadron Collider is the biggest particle accelerator in the world, located between France and Switzerland. This month scientists will start doing tests and gradually ramp up the accelerator to full operational capacity. Before it creates a black hole that sucks up the earth goes online, The Big Picture site has amazing shots of this huge scientific station.
I’ve done some industrial photography in my time but this would be amazing to shoot.

Well, I’ll give you points for being original. I’ve never seen anything industrial like that in my life. And I used to be a nuclear power plant operator on top of that.

Thanks John, I thought these were all shot really well and give a sense of the scale and complexity. Also, I guess the earth didn’t collapse into a black hole so good news.
